Man v. Food:
Starting around the year 2003, a man by the name of Adam Richman, born in Brooklyn, New York, decided to venture all over the USA in search of restaurants unique within the region. Before going on this state-wide quest, Richman understood and held nearly every job in the restaurant business, and now he is "on a quest to find America's greatest pick-out spots." Going to places like Chicago, Denver, Las Vegas, and Austin, Adam Richman searched for some of the most one-of-a-kind restaurants he could find. Additionally, he spent some time understanding how most of the restaurants he went to started out, including their historical significance, the culture behind each restaurant, and the unique twists that each restaurant has made to their menus. Additionally, he would go to some restaurants and take on their eating challenges, such as eating a jumbo Stromboli or extremely spicy wings within a certain amount of time, though that was probably solely for entertainment purposes. Regardless, Adam Richman took it upon himself to search for restaurants new and unique to him, and during that time he was able to develop a better understanding as to how they got started and what each restaurant symbolized to their respected owners.
I suppose that in some ways, Adam Richman, being a food fanatic, has felt that living in America was about more than respecting the dishes and cultures of one's home town, but about venturing to other places and being able to enjoy good food that restaurants he visits have been known for and be able to better comprehend the cultures that make up the restaurant in the first place. After all, America is basically a potluck of many different cultures; therefore, there isn't necessarily one set culture that makes up an American lifestyle, but rather many different cultures that influences actions taken by the individuals themselves, like Adam Richman.
